Fastest-Growing Jobs That Pay More Than $100,000

The job picture is continually changing, as the need for some jobs increases while the need for other jobs wanes. Using statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, CNBC compiled a list of the jobs that are expected to grow the most through 2026 and have an annual average salary of more than $100,000 a year. Not surprisingly, most are in the medical field. But there are some others, if you are not scientifically inclined:

The top jobs are:

  • Anesthesiologists, with an average annual salary of $265,990 and predicted job growth of 15 percent by 2026.

  • Surgeons, with an average annual salary of $251,890 and predicted growth of 14 percent.

  • Obstetricians and gynecologists, with an average annual salary of $235,240 and predicted growth of 16 percent.

  • Psychiatrists, with an average annual salary of $216,090 and predicted growth of 11 percent.

  • Family and general physicians, with an average annual salary of $208,560 and predicted growth of 14 percent.

  • Orthodontists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons, with an average annual salary of $208,000 and predicted growth of 19 percent.

  • Internists, with an average annual salary of $198,370 and predicted growth of 15 percent.

  • Pediatricians, with an average annual salary of $187,540 and predicted growth of 15 percent.
