Someone You Should Know: Ron Miller

The Bensman Group welcomes Ron Miller, Employee Benefits Specialist!
Ron helps employers find a benefits approach to serve the needs of both the company and its employees.
Ron is quite passionate about helping clients: "My goal is to service their employee benefits needs from start to finish. That includes group health insurance, life insurance, long-term care insurance, disability insurance along with other benefits needs the employer might encounter."
Ron, who joined Bensman after working with more than 100 clients at Barry Spitzer & Associates and Paychex Corp., serves startup companies to firms with approximately 1,000 employees, though his focus will be companies with 20 to 100 employees.
Central to his approach is “a significant amount of education." He states that, "Helping employers to understand and weigh their options has become even more critical as employee benefits have become increasingly complex.
"Healthcare Reform is obviously having a larger impact on benefits, and that’s a conversation we’re having." In addition, Ron helps employers deal with changes in tax law and other changes such as an aging workplace and shortened employee tenure leading to higher employee turnover.
"The last issue – employee turnover – has become a particular concern." He adds that part of his goal is to work with employers to build benefits to enhance the likelihood that valued employees will remain with the company. Ron continues, "We want to make it worthwhile for both the employer and the employee."
Ron joined Bensman in large part because he was comfortable with the Bensman philosophy of serving clients.
"Bensman has a large focus on education and doing what’s right for clients, and that melds with what I want for my clients."
Ron earned his bachelor’s degree in History and Religious Studies from The University of Kansas, and his MBA degree with an emphasis on Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. He is a Scholar Board Member at William Guy Frobeck Research Foundation and a dedicated member at A Giving Heart Foundation. He lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with his family.
Ron can be reached at 847-572-0826 or rmiller@bensman.com.
